Kiyosumi Garden, Tokyo

Our first morning in Tokyo, we went to the beautiful Kiyosumi Garden, a traditional Japanese strolling garden in Tokyo, about a half hour train ride from our hotel. We grabbed a quick breakfast near the train station.

Even though I had a delicious iced green tea with breakfast, I was still excited to try one of the vending machines on the train platform. Some machines have both hot and cold drinks, so I wound up having a warm Lipton Milk Tea. Delicious! Why don’t we have these in America?

After a quick train ride and a half-block walk, we arrived at the spectacular Kiyosumi Gardens. You step off the metropolitan streets of Tokyo and into this lush, green, peaceful environment. There are many places in the garden where you can see the city in the background, which makes the tranquility of the gardens especially noticeable. There are also many places in the gardens where you cannot see a trace of the city surrounding you. Hope you enjoy the photos below. I know there are a lot, but this place is very picturesque!
